Surgical Neurophysiologist Ii Cnim
CurrentThe Surgical Neurophysiologist II-III works as part of a team that provides intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) care for patients during surgical procedures where there is risk of neurologic injury. The goal of monitoring is to detect early signs of potential or evolving injury so that steps may be taken during surgery to reduce the risk of postoperative neurologic deficit. Provided services may include testing with evoked potentials, electromyography, electroencephalography, nerve conduction studies and/or other modalities. The neurophysiologist performs a preoperative assessment of the patient and conducts intraoperative tests using currently accepted neurophysiologic techniques. The neurophysiologist also compiles data collected in real-time, intraoperative reports, post-operative reports, and/or billing forms as needed.
