I am an innovative, creative, and multi-award-winning professional theatre artist with extensive experience delivering exemplary instruction, outstanding experiences, and optimized academic outcomes. My expertise spans directing, acting, ensemble practice, theatre and film history, theatre and film appreciation, curriculum design, fiscal control, DEI, COVID-19 policies, educational modeling, student progress reporting, contemporary methodologies, and goal and objective setting and attainment. Reviewing student needs and leveraging various tools, activities, and teaching pedagogies, I promote learning and collaboration to conceive, develop, and deliver curricula and stage productions, completing all deliverables to schedule, budget, and agreed specifications. I have experience teaching multiple levels of acting and analysis-based direction, primarily utilizing the methods of Uta Hagen and Francis Hodge. I am an academic, scholar, and artist with a firm foundation in and dedication to most periods of theatre but with a particular interest in Tennessee Williams and Lorraine Hansberry. I am also focused on developing new plays and exploring current trends in American theatre, including reaching those in underrepresented populations and increasing accessibility without losing the soul of our art form. I bring my real-world experience to classroom activities and undertake training courses, including Anti-Racism and Intimacy Direction, to continuously improve as a teacher and provide safe spaces for students to grow. Promoting communication and team cohesion, I devise and implement powerful academic strategies and foster diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning environments to encourage and empower all my students to realize their full potential.
