In fact, most of the larger lenders employ the least experienced Loan Officers and Consultants who are more likely to tell you what you want to hear only to play cleanup weeks into the process when they realize their "mistake" (more like un-professionalism) which creates a bad experience for everyone involved and ultimately gives the professionals like myself a bad name simply by association. Not only that, but they overcharge the clients in the process. The true professionals in this space and the most cost effective option for the client is the Independent Mortgage Broker. They are the Guys and Gals who not only know what they're doing but that you should seek out in your search for what most people agree is the largest financial decision of their lives outside of retirement planning. That's not to say there aren't good people working at those big national banks and Mortgage companies because there are, I was one of them at one point. But when you've seen the ins and outs of the mortgage business for nearly 2 decades like I have it's very clear that Brokers are in the consumers best interest. And not just by a little, by A LOT. Lower rates, no Origination Fees, Faster Turn Times, More efficient EVERYTHING. But The problem lies with the fact that the gigantic marketing budgets these companies deploy to the masses has skewed people to believe otherwise. And that is where my mission takes hold. To educate as many people as possible about the misinformation and lack of transparency that this business entails. When it comes to obtaining a mortgage, whether you choose to use myself or someone else, make sure it's an Independent Mortgage Broker. Your pocketbook won't be the only thing that benefits.
