  • Crux Engineering And Construction
    Founder; Executive Director
Crux Engineering And Construction Jun 2015 - Present
    Uganda
As a part of my time with Restore International, I founded a construction company in Uganda focusing on constructing schools and refugee centers in East Africa. I wanted to leave a self-sufficient company as part of my work in Uganda, and I'm proud to watch them win and successfully complete projects after I've left. I volunteer on a limited basis to manage employees, contracts, client relations, staffing positions, and finances. I've also enjoyed branching out into structure design to meet our client's needs and desires according to budgets, donors, or grant requirements.
  • Reframe
    Co-Founder
    Reframe May 2018 - Present
ReFrame is the last bed frame you'll ever need. A lightweight, collapsable, adjustable frame that can adjust to any size bed you'll own and can be setup in less than 5 minutes without tools. ReFrame is elevated and has optional storage integrated into the design, allowing you to reclaim the square footage in your room.

  • Ch2M
    Chemical Process Engineer
    Ch2M Nov 2015 - Apr 2016
    Portland, Oregon Area
During my time at CH2M, I designed chemical process systems in the Industrial and Advanced Technology division. I learned how to effectively collaborate with clients, construction managers, and CH2M project managers while successfully delivering a 1.1 million sq.ft research facility. Some of my other tasks included improving and revising detailed system drawings for over 30 microelectronic utilities with our multi-national team.
  • Restore International
    Construction Director, Accounting Lead
    Restore International Mar 2013 - Oct 2015
    Gulu, Uganda
Volunteer turned director, I managed the construction of Restore Leadership High School in Northern Uganda which was being built and run simultaneously. I created and implemented a organization-wide accounting system for increased financial accountability to donors. We had the opportunity to collaborate with Intel to bring computers to our school. In my time as construction director, I managed up to 110 Ugandan construction workers, supervisors, an accountant, a truck operator, and a procurement specialists all the while reducing projects costs by 33% and construction timeline by 55% by use of lean-methodologies. I became a results-driven leader that satisfied the priorities of my superiors while clearly communicating any constraints we experienced that came with running a construction project in the developing world. This experience taught me humility, patience, hard-work, perseverance, task prioritization and improved on my ability to work well between people regardless of their education background or language spoken by uniting for a common purpose.
  • Ch2M Hill
    Chemical Process Engineer
    Ch2M Hill Mar 2011 - Feb 2013
    Hillsboro, Oregon
My time with CH2M Hill began with a 6-month internship between my junior and senior year of school and was then hired on after I graduated. Here's a few highlights of my first two stints working as a process engineer. My internship began by being figuratively thrown into the pool to see if I could swim. There was little time for babying a junior engineer, so I was expected to be very self-sufficient from day one. I was assigned and then completed a hydraulic modeling package under allotted time, presenting my work to our client within one week of beginning my new job, managing scope change requests from what everyone said was one of our more difficult clients. I was the first intern to receive a performance bonus in our group. My instructions from my engineering lead at the end of my internship were to "Please quit school and just keep working here." I decided not to heed her advice and went back and completed my degree. After completing my degree, I went back to work with CH2M Hill where I was appointed as intern team leader in responding to RFIs during construction, leading four interns in an effort to sort and implement thousands of design changes to improve on future designs. Our project was designing a research facility for a confidential client in Hillsboro, OR. I was a part of the "most successful" sub-discipline of our chemical process team and worked with electrical, mechanical, structural, and multiple other disciplines to coordinate this research facility expansion.
  • Young Life
    Student Staff, High-School Leader
    Young Life May 2010 - Jun 2012
    Corvallis, Oregon Area

I was hired on as a staff member for two years where I coordinated meetings between other Young Life leaders from the region, participate in monthly regional leadership trainings and ran weekly leader meetings. I was also assigned to perform a three day program of skits and games in character in front of hundreds of students.
