As the Sr Manager of Data Governance and Compliance, I report to the Sr Director of Data Governance for Disney Streaming DATA and directly oversee the functional areas for Data Quality Compliance, Security Compliance and Privacy Compliance. While I primarily focus is on strategic direction of privacy and security by design approaches with data platform partners, I also work across many other groups to provide guidance and recommendations to maintain safe, reliable, trustworthy and compliant data. Privacy related initiatives include CCPA, GDPR, COPPA and other state, local or regional privacy laws. Security compliance work centers around identity and access management. Data Quality compliance involves the build out of a data quality framework and guidance on metadata management.

As a benefits analyst, my main function was to analyze medical claims data to determine cost effectiveness and to identify opportunities within the benefit plans for potential changes. Part of that function also involved creating ad-hoc reports to management on costs, trends, and costing of alternatives to address issues within any of the core or voluntary benefit plans. I also split my time as the voluntary benefits coordinator. In this role, I worked closely with a broker to assess the current suite of products and made recommendations for changes or new products to be offered. I have led projects to implement pet insurance as a new voluntary benefit as well as a tool to help employees make an informed enrollment decision when electing their medical benefits coverage.

As the Chair, it was my responsibility to direct overall activities of the Administrative Professional Staff Advisory Committee (APSAC) and call/preside over all meetings. I was also tasked with delegating and coordinating responsibilities of all APSAC subcommittee chairs, APSAC representatives to University committees, and the APSAC Vice Chair as well as recommending and establishing goals and objectives for APSAC. I also held leadership positions as Vice Chair from June 2012 through October 2012 and as Chaif of Membership and Staff Relations (MSR) Subcommittee from January 2012 through May 2012. I also had signature delegation to approve orders as long as they meet the allowability, allocability, and reasonability requirements set forth by Purdue University.
