About Beau Preston
What drives the world? Creativity. Through it lies the power to innovate, persuade and overcome any challenges. Creativity is at the heart of what I do through all facets of my professional and personal life. I've participated in various forms of creation all my life, from being that kid at school who always drew in their schoolbook to designing unique tattoos and art pieces for clients. With a formal education in communication, I've spent years producing video content with experience in outdoor broadcasting, social media, YouTube and advertising. This experience allowed me to transition into the marketing world, where I've thrived on the opportunities to develop and execute marketing strategies centred around creative, engaging content. I love working with people, so effective stakeholder and project management are always in my mind. Some of my most rewarding career moments include:- Creating a mini-series behind the scenes at Weta Workshop with Youtuber ZorpaZorp. Beyond meeting my creative heroes and swinging around priceless film artifacts, the series was a hit.- Every time I see my art etched in the flesh or framed on the walls of grateful clients. - Developing a series of engaging campus tour videos amidst the uncertainty and chaos of COVID shutdowns and receiving a Divisional Award for my efforts.- Creating a targeted marketing campaign to encourage higher participation of indigenous and rural-based students in higher education. Centred around powerful student stories, this project highlighted the actual value of equitable education for all.- Being part of the team that live-streamed the first season of Women's Big Bash cricket in 2016. I coordinated and led the production of over 20 outdoor broadcasts across Australia in some of the biggest cricket stadiums. - Organising a fun activity-filled Star Wars Day for Westmead Children's Hospital Starlight ward kids.Outside of work, you'll often find me sitting by the beach, listening to a history podcast, and drawing for myself (if I'm not swimming). I have a passion for travel, food and experiencing other cultures. I also enjoy some good outdoor exercise to offset my eating habits.
