Since graduating, I've worked consistently as a freelancer: coaching accents to actors, presenters and speechmakers; and coaching Voice Acting technique to actors wanting to explore that avenue. My work has given me the chance to work with numerous actors from a huge range of backgrounds, coaching for shows at the National Theatre and the RSC, on Netflix, Amazon and Disney Plus, and for feature films. My more permanent positions have seen me teaching at renowned institutions such as the Institute of Arts Barcelona, where I was a Voice and Dialect lecturer from Sep 22 - Dec 23. Here I tought three years of BA actors and BA Musical Theatre Students, as well as teaching on MA courses in Acting and MT. The experience was hugely enriching, largely due to the diversity of background and experience that the student cohort had. I have also taught accents at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and Bath Spa University.Whilst many coaches find an accent to specialise in, I have made my speciality my diversity. My friends and colleagues will tell you that I store accent information in an extensive mental database, and can as such tackle any accent with authenticity and understanding. My own career as a Voiceover Artist (McDonalds, AT&T, NHS, National Rail, Redbull, HollandAmerica) has informed my coaching, and allows me to give a modern, practical and informed perspective on the contemporary industry in this Post-Covid, AI addled world where VO seems to be changing and evolving every day.
