Program management of the Training transformation program, from a transactional service to a business partner with return on investment at the core of their strategy. Led product group wide projects in training, safety and contractor management.Project and program management tools and support required to deliver business wide transformation. The training transformation program won national awards and delivered 33% reduction in training cost per employee over 2 years.Led deep dive reviews of the training function, providing recommendations for improvement.Project managed the centralisation of the training function, to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction as the training resources reduced by 40%.Implemented a standard process for onboarding and access to site across Iron Ore, delivering a reduction in 15,000 hours per annum in training for employees.Project managed the implementation of Critical Risk Management to the operational workforce for Iron Ore (~8,500 employees).

Coordination of the operational readiness activities for the Operations Centre, during the peak period of expansion within the Iron Ore business. Working with a core team, and extended group of business wide stakeholders, ensured that the Operations Centre was prepared for all new facilities and technologies implemented. Scope included; IT and process control systems, consideration of the impact of the change on the supply chain and system scheduling and the impact to people and processes in the control room.Led the Pilbara Supply Chain Readiness for the first phase of the Cape Lambert Port expansion activities. Coordinated a project team of Operational Readiness Managers from the Port, Rail, Operations Centre and Planning functions ensuring the operation of the supply chain at capacity as practical.Key tasks included; risk identification and mitigation, identification of critical path and key actions within each area, establishing the appropriate governance, ensuring the processes were highly adaptable to flex when risks or opportunities associated with construction activities arose.

Prepared the operations for rapid ramp up of new assets to sustained operations by ensuring that employees were in place with the tools required to work. Primary focus was the Cape Lambert Port, however all capital projects were in scope.Developed the headcount plan, strategy for recruitment and employee ramp up, and the operational budget for the Cape Lambert Port.Developed HSEQ systems tools and processes, operating procedures, training, document and drawing management and business and HSE risk management.

Completed a Six sigma project to improve mine development practices which delivered in excess of $4M in the first 6 months post implementation. A review one year post project completion showed that the value had been sustained. Provided a sustainable solution for waste oil management and removal. 2 million litres of waste was removed from the remote location in a 6 month period. Prior to my project team’s successful outcome, there were 2 other projects which failed to deliver a suitable solution.Coaching Six Sigma Green Belts.

Fulfilled the statutory role of Radiation Safety Office for the Range and Jabiluka uranium mines associated operations, encompassing 7 pieces of legislation and reporting to 4 regulatory bodies.Achieved significant changes to the License to Operate through consultation with statutory and other key external stakeholders and development of risk based management processesDeveloped the Radiation Management Plans for the Jabiluka mine during initial development. Conducted research required for World Heritage Committee submissions relating to Kakadu national parks status as a world heritage site in light of the Jabiluka development.
