I have over 17 years of experience working within Education. From 2006 - 2020 I worked in Townsville in a number of different roles, from Classroom Teacher to Behaviour Specialist to acting positions as HOD-C and Deputy Principal. I have completed my training in 'Heggerty's Phonemic Awareness' and 'Anita Archer's Explicit Instruction and Active Engagement' and have provided professional development opportunities on both of these pedagogical approaches.I worked as Master Teacher and Instructional Coach from 2017-2019 within my school. This required regular data conversations with teachers to build capability in the teacher and learning cycles being delivered to their students. I triangulated data and often spoke with Regional Office about data projections and growth within my school. I spent 2 years (2018-2019) as the Behaviour Specialist in my school. This role saw me mentoring teachers, modelling expectations, and providing assistance with tier 3 behaviours and strategies to make changes from reactive to proactive behaviour approaches. In 2020, I moved into the role of HOD-C and hit the ground running with the Covid pandemic happening and the alternate learning platforms that had to take place. In June, I had to regretfully leave that position to move to Toowoomba, with my substantive position being a Classroom Teacher, I have been in the classroom for the past 3 years.I am looking to expand my career and move back into leadership.
