What did you want to be when you grew up? I thought I wanted to be a Homicide Detective for most of my life, hence my degree in Criminology/Forensic Science. While I'm a sucker for a good crime drama and all things blood & gore, I have realized that what I really am passionate about is simply investigating. A career where I can dig in, find a problem and fix it, or simply figure out how to make something great even better....that's where I find my happiness. These days, that usually means optimizing keywords, finding the perfect budgeting strategy for a particular market, hunting down the best affiliates, designing the perfect postcard to send to the perfect client at the exact right time, or assessing why profits are heading towards the grave and bringing them back to life. At this point I don't anticipate the title of Homicide Detective ever hitting my resume. But, if there was a title of Marketing Detective, I'd happily claim it.
