There’s nothing I love more than getting lost in a great story. Whether it comes from a classic novel, a Broadway musical, a children’s cartoon, or a piece of fan fiction, there’s something extraordinary about the power that a story can have to captivate and transport a person. Over the years my passion for stories has fostered my love of learning, and during my college career I dedicated my time to studying literature, music, and theatre.As an English major, I often wrote and conducted research in an academic setting, which helped me to develop the ability to read analytically, think critically, and communicate effectively. I was able to apply my research skills to dramaturgical work with the Department of Theatre Arts as well, and through volunteering on school productions I gained experience with both dramaturgy and stage management. All three of my primary areas of study instilled in me the importance of being an empathetic listener and seeking out diverse perspectives, and I have done my best to carry this knowledge with me in all of my endeavors.
