Over a four-year period, Match Day raised more than $11.1 million for basic needs.

Senior storyteller and resident wordsmith responsible for helping create, coordinate and copy edit communication and marketing pieces that promote the Greater Milwaukee Foundation. These include, but are not limited to, invites, news releases, web content, a semi-annual publication with general news and updates about the Foundation and a quarterly publication highlighting local nonprofit programs that has inspired donors to make gifts of more than $1 million in support of the featured agencies since 2006.

Reported to the director of marketing with responsibility for writing and preparing marketing programs, some grant writing and fundraising communications, external and internal communications and newsletters, annual report, product and service packaging and creative development and production of marketing and advertising programs to address target audiences. Also participated in special events and promotions and development of supporting communications programs.

Main reporter for the Focus section, a weekly feature section that includes at least three articles highlighting a specific topic or industry, such as construction and design, health care or banking. Contributed to Business Plans section, which focuses on small businesses and entrepreneurs, and at least six special sections during the year. Main contributor to The Biz, the paper's quarterly publication geared toward high school students. Added arts, nonprofits and small retail beats in November 2003.

General assignment reporter. Wrote stories in English and Spanish for weekly bilingual publication, including coverage of former Mexican President Vicente Fox's visit to Milwaukee; at the time, only editorial staff member fluent in Spanish.

Chosen as one of 100 college students around the country to be part of the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund editing internship program. Attended two-week editing boot camp at Temple University before working at The Daily Independent. Copy edited news, feature and sports articles for AP style, grammar, libel and accuracy; created headlines and cutlines, worked on layout of local, business and feature fronts as well as inside news pages.
