I relocated from Umea, Sweden to Hannover, Germany to work in Prof. Gisa Gerold's Lab on Proteomics and various virus infections - certainly some Adenovirus work will continue but I will also join the efforts in understanding Alphavirus infections in different infection system.

Here in Umeå, I joined a project by Prof. Niklas Arnberg and Prof. Gisa Gerold, where I am focussing on host cell entry of enteric human adenoviruses types 40 and 41 in cell lines as well as infection and interaction studies of these viruses in enteroid cultures. During the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, I was also able to be involved in several SARS-2 related.

In my postdoctoral position, I'm working on the host cell entry pathway of the human pathogen Merkel cell polyomavirus. We are employing small molecule inhibitors, RNA interference, confocal immunofluorescence microscopy, and electron microscopy to follow the virus during it's uptake. Further, I am involved in several projects related to the host cell.
