Becket Cerny is a coordinator at Kraft-Engel Management, one of the world's leading agencies that specialize in the representation of composers, songwriters and music supervisors for film, TV, new media and theatre. Prior to KEM, Becket worked at Spotify, Trumpet Records, and as an independent music supervisor, sound designer, and musician. His projects have been featured at the Sundance, TriBeCa, and Seattle Film Festivals; SXSW; and in Deadline, Forbes, Playbill, The Face Magazine, Flood Magazine, and Paper Mag. Becket served as composer and music supervisor for the short comedy, "Out of Order," which premiered at the 2022 TriBeCa Film Festival. In 2021, he sound designed the short feature, “Bruiser,” which was selected for Sundance, SXSW, and Seattle Film Festivals. His first full feature music supervisor role was in 2022 for “Who Am I?” (as yet unreleased).In music videos, Becket's credits include MADISON BEER’s “Life Support World Tour" videos; CHET FAKER’s Feel Good; OLIVIA O’BRIEN’s Episodes; GOODY GRACE’s Nothing Good (featuring G.Eazy and JuicyJ); and BEN DRAGHI’s Somewhere. Becket collaborated with playwright PHILICIA SAUNDERS to develop a virtual theater score for BREATHE, her powerful one-woman play; and in 2019, he produced TV ad campaigns for ESTÉE LAUDER and ABSOLUT. Becket co-created and sound designed the chart topping podcast, DAY BY DAY, featuring Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated actors in twice weekly uplifting stories about life in Covid-quarantine. The Face Magazine called it “the best thing to emerge from quarantine" and in summer 2020 it remained in Apple’s Top-10 fiction podcasts. Becket also helped launch Flood FM, a podcast platform for Flood Magazine, producing and supervising twice weekly shows hosted by San Francisco radio's DJ AARON AXELSEN.As a jazz drummer and musician, Becket was selected to perform in the prestigious Banff International Workshop for Jazz and Creative Music. The intensive program was directed by influential and innovative American composers and multi-instrumentalists, Vijay Iyer and Tyshawn Sorey. He produced and mixed the 2021 Holiday Album for Playdate Theatre, securing and producing live and remote vocal sessions with Broadway actors and studio musicians. Becket received a B.A. in Music, with honors, from Wesleyan University. His undergraduate thesis “Groove Science: the Dilla Feel” has been downloaded over 2,100 times and is assigned reading in the jazz curriculum at the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
