Working closely with fishermen—especially those operating out of Cornwall— I bring expertise in commercial fisheries liaison and advocate for fishermen-led management with a particular emphasis on supporting resilient coastal communities and the UK’s inshore commercial fishing industry. My project, anoceanwarrior.com, and associated Patreon, podcast, YouTube, and Instagram platforms combine my digital art skills with marine science expertise to build awareness of sustainable UK fisheries, enabling the public to make informed seafood choices.My academic background includes a BSc in Marine and Freshwater Biology from the University of Hull and an MSc in Applied Marine Science from Plymouth University. These are complemented by over five years of hands-on experience in the UK fishing industry, where I’ve developed expertise in ecosystem management, fisheries science, and public engagement.I’ve contributed to marine regulation education, such as the emerging Fisheries Act 2020, as well as fisheries enforcement, stakeholder engagement, and research.
