I have rejoined LIPA, the Laser Illuminated Projector Association, an Industry Association I co-founded in 2011, to advance the adoption of Laser Projection, initially for Digital Cinema. Laser Cinema is now mainstream with the majority of new Cinema projectors sold being Laser Illuminated. I have rejoined LIPA to support a stronger and broader communications function for members and the industry in general. I am working with LIPA's Chairman and directors to layout a strategy for the future that will broaden its scope - adding new members, new application segments and a stronger Business Development function for Laser Illumination. My work on Laser Projection for Digital Cinema and other performance projection segments is done. At the end of 2017, I formally retired from Barco. Together we created and developed a global market for high brightness RGB laser projection. Helping Barco extend its Technical and Market leadership in laser-illuminated projector (LIPs) in Cinema and other premium applications. Representing Barco at LIPA, an organization I co-founded to rationalize global regulatory requirements and speed the adoption of laser-illuminated projection.
