Those who tell their stories well inspire, engage and succeed in a demanding business environment. Those who don't are left behind.A client of ours had an exceptionally talented team with a broad range of technical skills. We interviewed the staff and told their powerful video stories that successfully demonstrated its capabilities to prospective customers.Another client sought to give prospective employees a peak at hard-to-fill jobs in a realistic way. We told the company's culture story and let employees explain the job. So far, we have produced eight of these stories for this client, based on this effective approach. Whether it's communicating services, building a brand or fostering culture, video stories are powerful. And given the changes wrought by COVID-19, all of us have become accustomed to a lot more video.I spent a career running newspapers and their websites that told the stories of their communities. As a result, I have had a unique window on the successes, challenges and connections in a wide range of industries and organizations. That experience has prepared me to use a journalistic approach to help with business development, marketing, workplace culture development and employee recruitment.At U.S. Workstories, our video stories may focus on the CEO, customers or front-line employees. Inspiring stories come from many people and places.We asked highway workers to tell their stories on camera to help illustrate the need for work zone safety. The resulting video (See Experience below) has well over 500,00 Facebook views and has been shared 13,000 times.I help clients identify themes and develop a production plan. I have a unique ability to ask the right questions, to make people feel comfortable, to connect the dots and to find the story.
