Coordination of St. Joseph County's rape crisis center, which is a program of the Family Justice Center. Responsible for recruiting, training and management of volunteer Advocates to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence through a 24/7 telephone crisis line and hospital accompaniment. Provide training and education on these issues to area professionals, law enforcement, first responders, college and university faculty, staff and students, and the community at large. Operate a Sexual Assault Treatment Clinic in partnership with SANE (sexual assault nurse examiner) nurses from St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, providing follow-up medical testing and advocacy services to survivors of sexual assault. Assist in overseeing a staff team including an LCSW, a Special Populations Outreach coordinator, a Risk Reduction Programming coordinator, and a Special Victims' Advocate imbedded in the Special Victims' Unit. Supervision of interns from local college and university campuses. Assist with grant writing and performance reporting. Facilitation of our county's Sexual Assault Response Team. Working cooperatively with St. Joseph County prosecutors, SVU investigators, and court clerk. On-site crisis intervention and advocacy to clients seeking assistance, resources, and protective orders. All administrative tasks associated with these responsibilities, and other duties as assigned.
