ClarkSLT is an independent speech and language therapy service based in and around Surrey and Sussex, led by Speech & Language Therapist Becky Clark. The team are passionate about making a difference for children and young people aged 4 – 25 years with speech, language and social communication difficulties. We provide services for schools and colleges as well as for individual children / young people. We understand the language demands of the curriculum, how literacy and language skills interlink, and the challenges of social communication. We're keen to support schools and colleges through training staff. Becky founded the RADLD YouTube campaign in 2012 with academics in the field of Developmental Language Disorder, to raise awareness and understanding about DLD. As RADLD Editor, Becky produced many of the films, and in 2018 RADLD won a Charity Film Award for the film 'DLD 1-2-3'. In 2017 Becky led the first DLD Awareness Day.Becky’s experience includes setting up and delivering support for students in specialist and mainstream schools and colleges and providing workshops for educational professionals including EP trainees. Becky has worked as Head of Therapy in a special school, and held Research Officer roles at universities. She has been invited to speak about DLD diagnostic and clinical issues at SLT workshops, for policy events and for digital media. Becky was awarded a Fellowship of RCSLT in 2020 for outstanding contribution to the profession.
