"I started Resolutions Counseling and Coaching in 2012 after 25 years in the Corporate Event and Travel Management business. In my counseling practice, offering a variety of services such as Dating Coaching, Intensive Couples Counseling and Divorce Mediation, I noticed that there were many people going through a transition in their lives (divorce, new move or job, empty nest) that would love to be able to get away on a great travel adventure just for a break between life phases. The problem was that they didn’t really have a great travel partner. Maybe their spouse didn’t enjoy travel or their best friend won’t go on a big trip without her significant other (threesome travel not great); Maybe, they like traveling with their sister, but sister doesn’t have the money to do so or perhaps being with her and only her 24/7 may not end up well. So, I thought, how great to get a group of people together, all in a transitional phase of their life or just looking for an adventure with others and create an experience that includes active travel with unique experiences (like I always provided in my years of event and travel planning), along with luxury hotels (many group travel companies book hotels that are a bit sub-par in my experience), and a touch of “optional” inspiration each morning of the trip. So, with Transitions Group Travel, this travel adventure will not just be a great experience, but will also provide personal growth and motivation for our lives once we return home."

Meetings Plus is a meeting planning and conference marketing consulting firm offering distinctive, innovative and creative programs to their clients, primarily hi-tech companies located in the Silicon Valley. While responsible for the Operations Division, which contained approximately 80 employees, my effectiveness was measured, by client retention, employee retention, and profitability. Within the Operations Division, the following departments existed - Account Services (meeting planning, project management and conference marketing services); Merchandising; Travel Services; Registration Services; Office Support and Facilities; On Site Services (approximately 100 freelance Travel Directors, not included in the employee count); Exhibit Management; Training. Meetings Plus was purchased by Maritz, the largest conference marketing company in the United States, in 2000. I continued to work as the Vice President of Operations in the Western Region for two years after the acquisition.

Project Management from marketing to execution for incentive travel programs designed for television stations to entice advertisers. Planned over 60 programs for this company in 4 years to destinations throughout the world. Programs were very high touch and ranged in size from 80 - 250 persons.

Responsible for success of Our Gang travel club, an incentive program within the bank designed to attract senior citizen depositors in Santa Barbara. Promoted and executed over 8 trips per month ranging from a day at the theater to 2 weeks in Africa. Travel staff of 8 persons were direct reports. Popularity of the programs and membership expansion were the measurement of success.
