I joined Ali Abdaal's team as a script writer for his YouTube channel. I'd been a long-time subscriber and was ready to explore more of the creator economy after helping clients build their personal brand as a freelancer.This role asked me to research, pitch and develop new ideas for the YouTube channel, as well as getting involved in other areas of the business like course writing and press events. This quickly evolved into community management, where I built a Discord server of 10k to engage with Ali's closest fans and contributed to his social media strategy.

In 2 years of streaming on Twitch, I built a following of 1.2k and a Discord community of 400 people. I was able to monetise my content and work part-time. Twitch taught me how to engage a community long-term, consistently experiment, and built my storytelling skills. I credit Twitch for being able to talk anyone's ear off.

After 7 years of experience, I decided to go out alone and give freelance a try, to give me the opportunity to expand on the types of clients I work with. I worked with a plethora of clients over the 1.5 years - entrepreneurs, photographers, shops, museums and motorsport - and found interest in building individual's personal brands through their social media. I also build my Twitch audience in this time to 1.2k followers, and gained experience in building my own community through Discord and Twitter.

I worked with Rose Media as a contractor, primarily on social media campaigns for their established PR clients.

I saw a growth opportunity within the company and pitched a Digital Marketing specific role, which was something Wildwood had not ventured into before. We were running traditional PR campaigns for clients, but this new role allowed us include more online services. I worked with new and existing clients to build and update their websites, create a social media presence, and engage their email lists.Wildwood works heavily in the events industry, but I took on this role around the time the world was shutting down, so pivoted to online events and new ways of engaging my clients communities.

As the public relations industry is merging with the world of digital marketing, it was helpful to apply my background at a digital agency to my new role. In this year as an Account Executive, I learnt a lot about managing media campaigns, planning features and advertising, and building strong relationships with clients and publications alike. My weekly responsibilities included writing and distributing press releases, proactively reacting to press calls, contributing to wider marketing campaigns and attending exhibitions to support clients.

I joined BritWeb in 2014 as a Social Media & Content Apprentice. My main duties included running clients social media accounts daily on a variety of platforms, writing content for websites, creating articles for outreach purposes and also working with the SEO team on daily tasks.
