I am a Chartered Meteorologist with over 25 years professional experience and a specialist in the design, implementation and evaluation of weather and climate information services (WCIS) and early warning systems (EWS). Through my work, I support major international development organisations, national governments, NGOs and other institutional actors to work with National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHS) and their stakeholders at local, national, sub-regional and regional levels.A qualified Programme Manager and accredited facilitator, I am an expert in the professional design, implementation and evaluation of projects, programmes, strategic plans and people-centred services. I am also proficient at designing, implementing and effectively managing partnerships and collaborative activities across multiple organisations and stakeholders. Through fieldwork, focus groups, facilitated workshops, 121 sessions and tailored communication, I provide expert assessment, insightful analysis and pragmatic action-centred advice. With experience across the full value chain of weather and climate services, I help NMHS, as well as their stakeholders and implementation partners, to better understand and meet the needs of their users and customers. I support them, both individually and as a group, in the production, implementation and evaluation of new and enhanced WCIS/ EWS that enable and promote improved livelihoods and resilience to support the ultimate goal of sustainable development.In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors and like to travel in time and/ or space with a good book.

As Chair of the Board, I oversee its work, initiating and leading related activities as required. A key role is the development and implementation of the Society's Accreditation Strategy and associated programme of work. I am also a member of Council and a Trustee. -

In addition, as the Society Endorsements Editor, I am also supporting the Society in a new Book Endorsements scheme for trade and text books. In this role, I work with the Society’s Head of Publishing and Strategic Relations to assess books that the Society has the opportunity to endorse, arranging for peer and consumer reviews of the books as appropriate to inform the Society’s final decision. -
