As Director, I led a team of CMMI Lead Appraisers and Internal Consultants, building a center of excellence program and providing assessment and coaching services to business executives, managers, and front line staff at locations worldwide.

I developed a new-to-industry product, correctly forecasting market direction; segmenting and targeting the optimal market space. I presented at national and international conferences, included academia and industry in product development and implementation, and took the product from inception through strategic technology partnerships, development, sales, implementation and support.

Initially a Project Manager Advisor, I was hired into the newly forming Anatomic Pathology team as the Systems Analyst Advisor due to my technical and domain expertise, and my experience with start up projects. I was responsible for requirements gathering and definition, (including regulatory, compliance and billing requirements), beta process formation and adoption (McKesson’s goal was CMMi level II and III compliance, which we met successfully), artifact design and generation (from Use Cases to Behavioral and Interactive Design documents to Technical Specifications), and customer satisfaction (external and internal). My success with presentations, sales and marketing materials, and strategic presentations based on software under development contributed to my promotion to Product Manager.

Working in Development, my role was to complete the transition of the Ambulatory Care product to another development team. It was also my responsibility to define requirements for a Clinical Content service (code management module) to be used by all products following the new McKesson architecture. Additionally, I defined requirements and designed the cross-product solution for a Medical Necessity service, and assisted in the development, testing, implementation, and support of that solution at the pilot site.

Responsible for all aspects of successful new laboratory: design, purchasing, hazardous waste stream, regulatory compliance, specimen cradle to grave, processing, resulting, billing, profit and loss, balance statements and tax preparation, customer relationships, all SOP, hiring, and HR development. Company opened under budget on time, and was profitable within first year. Left when moved to Northern MN, company still growing and highly successful.
