I have been working in the field of Public Health since 2002 and I have progressively been building my skill set of engaging and collaborating with internal and external partners to achieve meaningful progress addressing public health issues such as maternal and child health, cancer, and tobacco control. Since 2013, I have been a part of a coordinated health communications team for the Bureau of Family Health at the Louisiana Department of Health and moved into the new Senior Advisor/Chief of Staff role in November 2019. In September 2023, I continued advancing my career with BFH by moving into the Data to Action Team Lead role. I currently am leading the team responsible for analyzing pregnancy, birth, injury, and death data; making recommendations to prevent injury and death; and then working through policy, systems, and communities/partners to implement those recommendations to prevent future injury and death.I bring a broad range of talents to my field that have achieved measurable results, including experience in communicating public health information to non-public health audiences, translating complex concepts into executable processes, success in collaborating with high-impact partners throughout Louisiana and the country, and effectiveness in applying my strong analytical and critical thinking skills to real-world settings. My objectives are to continue having an impact on public health by working strategically to build the foundation for achieving health equity through a communications lens and to build community capacity and increase access to resources, programs and services to all people.
