PresidentNorthwest Arkansas Community College Aug 2003 - Jun 2013Bentonville, ArkansasUnder her leadership at NWACC, credit student enrollment rose 71% and several new facilities were added to the northwest Arkansas campus, including a new student center, a multilevel parking garage, the Shewmaker Center for Global Business Development and a Center for Health Professions. Additionally, Becky was co-chair of the College’s first-ever comprehensive capital campaign, raising $16 million from key stakeholders. During her presidency, the College secured non-state funding (grants, private gifts and other funds) totaling $70 million. -
Vice President For InstructionCentral Piedmont Community College 1999 - 2003As Vice President for Instruction, I was the chief academic officer for the college and reported directly to the President.As the chief academic officer, I was responsible for an annual budget of approximately $27 million and supervised 285 full-time and 1,500 part-time faculty/staff for both credit and non-credit programs. I was responsible for library services and professional development at the college.During my tenure as vice president for instruction, I established the Center for Teaching and Learning, oversaw the development of skills-based certification programs in many of the technical programs, and coordinated the programming for all of the campuses. I was also involved with the Chamber of Commerce's economic strategic plan, Advantage Carolina, and played a major role in developing two of its major initiatives: Information Technology and the Workforce Development Continuum. During my tenure, the college experienced enrollment growth and implemented enrollment management initiatives within the instructional division, including a revitalization program for high employer demand, low enrollment programs. -
Dean Of InstructionHutchinson Community College 1996 - 1999As the Hutchinson Community College Dean of Instruction, I was the chief academic officer of the college and reported directly to the president. HCC serves approximately 4,500 degree-seeking students and another 10,000 students through its Business/Industry division. The College included the main campus and the South Campus in Hutchinson, as well as centers in Newton and McPherson. During my tenure as dean of instruction, we were successful in planning and designing the renovation of the technical building to become the Shears Technology Center, which opened in 1999 and is dedicated to workforce training. A major initiative in Instruction was to train faculty to use technology in the classroom, and we were successful in establishing a faculty training center as well as securing funds to transform numerous classrooms at all of our sites into multimedia classrooms. HCC is now one of the top Workkeys Service Centers in the country, and we were successful in implementing WorkKeys with the school districts, the Chamber of Commerce and various businesses in our service area.
