Working for a relocation firm with an international presence, I wrote resumes, cover letters, CVs, LinkedIn profiles, and other personal marketing materials for professionals in almost every industry. As a Senior Writer, I mentored less-experienced resume writers, proofread others' assignments and provided feedback to help them improve, and helped adjunct writers learn IMPACT's best practices and procedures. I regularly offered guidance to Career Coaches regarding résumé strategies and frequently stepped in to respond to their questions and issues in the absence of the résumé team manager. Key projects and accomplishments included:Conducting research to identify best practices for résumé and CV development in foreign countries across Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa, I collaborated with a colleague in updating my team’s templates to ensure we present our candidates in the best possible light. I also served as a resource to other team members regarding international CVs.I earned extensive positive feedback from career coaches and from the clients who received my personalized resumes. In 2022, I received a peer nomination from a colleague outside of my department for the company's highest award, citing my excellence in collaboration, ability to distill a career into a concise document that is engaging and flows well, and one particular scenario where a recipient of one of my resumes was moved to (good) tears and got a boost of confidence.

In this role I learned to write resumes and advanced into roles as Senior Writer and Department Manager. I interviewed clients over the telephone to fill in the gaps in their existing resumes and gather information about their most noteworthy and relevant career accomplishments. In my leadership roles, I trained new writers and editors in resume trends, internal style guidelines, interviewing techniques, identifying transferable skills, and writing concisely. To assist career coaches in assessing resumes, I delivered seminars to explain what information they needed to gather from their clients in advance of resume interviews and help them determine whether an individual’s resume needed to be rewritten. I trained numerous adjunct resume writers and disseminated their assignments to ensure on-time completion and customer satisfaction. My team and I stayed apprised of current and unfolding trends in resume content and presentation.Sally White & Associates was acquired by IMPACT Group in 2014 after various reductions in force; by the time of the acquisition, I was the only remaining resume writer. I was hired at IMPACT initially as a casual employee and then as a full-time writer.
