Dr. Becky Takeda-Tinker currently serves as the president & CEO for Colorado State University Global. She was formerly the Chief Education & Operations Innovation Officer for the Colorado State University System where she leveraged her experience in collaborating, leading, and sharing what is possible among diverse stakeholders to deliver innovative higher education and training programs to help ensure workforce and economic success. The role builds on her prior role as Recovery Officer with the State of Colorado's Departments of Labor & Employment and Higher Education where she worked to invest post-pandemic federal and state funds for economic growth and recovery. Becky was the first president & CEO of Colorado State University Global, the nation's first online, fully accredited, state, nonprofit university. Through partnerships with K-12 school districts, military, federal government, industry organizations, and third-party education and training organizations, she helped facilitate student and graduate professional & personal success and economic prosperity through the development and execution of CSU Global alternative credit programs; organizational training; client-based outsourcing initiatives; non-degree short programs for reskilling and upskilling; and innovative pathways leading to the award of over 20,000 degrees in its first decade while still serving over 20,000 students without the benefit of state financial support. Becky holds a Ph.D. in Organization and Management with a specialization in Leadership; an MBA in Finance; a post-graduate certificate in marketing management; and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She has served on the boards of the national SBDC, CO Economic Development Commission, CO Business Roundtable, International Women’s Forum of CO, the Lone Tree Arts Center Fund, and the CSU System Foundation among others. She is also the author of the book, Impacting the Future of Higher Education, and has been selected as one of Denver Business Journal’s Outstanding Women in Business; and named one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Business by the Colorado’s Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
