My role as an Employment Advisor in the welfare to work sector included coaching and supporting individuals into sustainable employment. This role requires many personal skills and qualities - being empathetic and understanding of others' situations, identifying vulnerable individuals and offering them the correct support and guidance they require along with safeguarding, strong diary management, extensive customer service skills and strong administration experience. During this time, I have also been trained on identifying and reporting any safeguarding concerns or incidents, ensuring information is processed in accordance with GDPR laws.

Roxy Ball Room is a vastly growing company across the North of England who currently have 10 venues. Here, I have developed a wide variety of skills whilst working in an office environment. On a daily basis, I can expect to take ingoing and outgoing phone calls with customers, work with excel spreadsheets, attend to emails, use our booking systems and also take meetings to discuss improvement and best practice in terms of company procedures. Upselling and ensuring a good customer rapport are key parts of this role.

This position gave me the opportunity to delve into a new area of hospitality which looked after bookings and the organisation of such. I learned a variety of team-building skills and went above and beyond to assist the close-knit team we had built here to ensure the workings of the venue went smoothly.

I gained this role to widen my experience, whilst most of my time in this role was spent as a sales advisor, I had worked my way up to department specialist during my last 6 months. This involved the responsiblity of visual merchandising and I also had the role of cashing up large quantities of money on a weekly basis.

I previously held a personal assistant position for a non-verbal teenage boy with complex learning difficulties including being on the Autism spectrum. A key aspect of this role included fast-paced decision making in stressful situations due to the unpredictability of the client's needs. I would assist the client in home-based care and would also be in charge of activities outside of the home. A critical part of this job was to initially create a bond between myself and the client to ensure there was trust in my ability to help. I have also completed a course named ‘Essential Guide to being a PA’ trained by Jane Brown and undertaken on the 23rd of February 2017.

I was a bar supervisor for a nightclub in Wakefield alongside another job and studying. Through the relaunching of the nightclub from a previous brand to Brick Works, I helped launch a cocktail menu and train new bar staff members on this menu. I also helped to refurbish the venue. My job role as supervisor included training staff, leading the team each shift, and dealing with any customer queries prior to being escalated to management.
