The Chronicle was one of several weekly newspapers published by Colorado Mountain News Media, in addition to their heavy hitters like the Vail Daily, Summit Daily and Aspen Times. I started as a weekly v with "In The Ville." Then I was hired as the Advertising Manager and eventually promoted to General Manager in late 2006. Readership increased 35% and advertising revenue went up 60%. Unfortunately, the 2008 economic downturn left more than a few CMNM's holdings on the chopping block. The Chronicle was one of them and closed its doors at the end of 2008.General Manager: Not quite a one-man band, but close. Put out weekly community newspaper from top to bottom managing one reporter and a receptionist. Advertising Manager: Know how to pound the pavement, make the cold call, close the deal, create the product and make sure the money hits the bank! Award-winning Columnist: Made them laugh. Made them cry. Kept them coming back for ^ 3 years. Recognized by peers.
