My role with The Divan Centre consisted of coordinating staff on a daily basis, managing our retail outlet in Leeds and building up the on-line Bed Guru brand. This is what is took up the majority of my time ... making sure our website is user friendly so people can find the correct product for their needs, take some helpful tips from me along the way, and easily arrange fast and efficient delivery nationwide. We stock a huge variety of national brands on-line and in the shop but I always try to dispose of old products locally, giving first hand experience of product longevity. Our main aim at The Bed Guru is to make sure the customer is advised on the product most suitable for them, pays a price within their budget, and goes away feeling happy and as though they have found somewhere they can come back to in the future whether they want a new pillow or a new set of bedroom furniture.Prior to setting up The Bed Guru (formerly The Divan Centre) in February 1994, I worked with my father in the bed retail industry, selling and delivering beds to customers, ordering stock, working in the warehouse, managing the accounts, and of course making the best brew in Yorkshire.
