Drive manpower development through policy analysis, formulation, and planning for the social service sector to ensure a competent and future-ready workforce

- Facilitate social service agencies (SSAs) funded by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), in meeting quality standards in their disability programmes- Advise SSAs on management of COVID-19 cases/clusters at their centres, as well as facilitate on-site vaccination and implementation of national testing regime, to ensure the health and safety of clients and staff at the SSAs’ centres- Support MSF’s policy review and planning of disability services/programmes

- Provided information and advice to persons with disabilities (PWDs) and their caregivers, to access various disability services, e.g. day activity centres; early intervention centres- Administered various schemes to enhance the lives of PWDs, e.g. grant for PWDs to purchase assistive devices to support independent living; subsidies for PWDs’ transport- Supported the policy review of schemes and streamlined application process of schemes, to enhance the service experience of users, e.g. rationalisation of assistive technology schemes by different Ministries; enhancement of policy coverage and simplification of application process for Car Park Label Scheme- Upheld the service quality standards of SG Enable through effective concierge and hotline operations

- Furthered Singapore’s interests on women’s matters internationally- Engaged non-government organisations and community partners to gather feedback on women’s issues- Developed Minister’s parliamentary response to the substantive motion on “Aspirations of Singapore Women” tabled by the Women’s Wing of the People’s Action Party- Headed the Secretariat to the Diversity Task Force regarding Women on Boards (DTF), which studied the under-representation of women on company boards and developed recommendations- Formed the Diversity Action Committee to implement DTF’s recommendations and further drove the advancement of women to boards- Headed the Secretariat to the Inter-Ministry Committee to track Singapore’s progress under the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (UNCEDAW)- Led the preparation of Singapore’s Fifth Periodic Report for UNCEDAW, as well as Singapore’s Oral Presentation of the Report to the UNCEDAW Committee- Organised the commemoration of Singapore’s 20th anniversary of accession to UNCEDAW

- Headed the Secretariat to the former Businesses for Families Council (BFC), which encouraged and equipped businesses to implement family-friendly initiatives for their customers- Oversaw all marketing and promotional activities of BFC via traditional and social media - Planned and executed the ‘We Welcome Families’ Awards 2013- Managed and enhanced (i) the national grant for businesses to implement family-friendly practices; and (ii) the national accreditation to recognise such practices
