• Subject matter expert interface between the Environment Team and the Refinery Transition Team on topics which include:
• Advise on Jet Terminal Project crude wharf stormwater management plan
• Develop an Environmental Management Plan with regard to waste, water, noise, flora and fauna relating to the Refinery closure
• Perform due diligence by researching and establishing an environmental register for: units and tanks containing lead, tank VOC emissions, unit waste contaminants and disposal routes and WWTP lessons learnt from prior.

BP Bulwer Island Refinery

• Utilised continuous improvement expertise to identify opportunities to increase efficiency and safety by introducing the use of cranes to replace manual labour
• Identified and implemented new technologies to reduce the cost of disposing of Aqueous Film Forming Foam, saving $430K and reducing the time to dispose of the waste from 10 years to 6 months
• Identified alternative option for 550 tonnes of waste bitumen which diverted the material from monocel burial and enable it to be recycled. Saving to BP more than $120K
• Introduced new strategies for bin placements, more effective signage, education programs and modified disposal routes to dramatically reduce waste going to landfill
• Coordinated the safe removal of 9000 tonnes of contaminated soil
• Facilitated regulatory permitting for transport and disposal

New Product Development

• Utilised Stage-Gate process to get products from concept to store shelves within 4 weeks
• Formulated new products based on marketing concepts
• Ensured that all products met regulatory requirements
• Maintained an awareness of industry trends

• Conducted analysis of in-process and finished product petrochemical products in compliance with ASTM methods, via distillation, GC analysis, UV/Vis, FIA, TLC, IR, flash point, freeze point and sulphur
