The students of America have taken a stand against gun violence. Now, we are teaming up with Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund and Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America to launch Students Demand Action. This initiative, led by us – the high school and college students of America – will turn our outrage into action. And through our action, we’ll bring change. ROLES:- Gain national Leadership training via Gun Sense University in D.C., training calls, and mentorship from the parent chapter of Moms Demand Action- Coordinating with other activist groups within the greater Metro Detroit area to inform on issues related to guns- Organizing rallies within schools and communities around Metro Detroit -> Registered 300 voters at rallies ->Fundraised $7,500 to fund rallies and transportation to national marches- Work closely with city representatives, state senate members, and congressman to implement positive changes in the community- Featured by local news outlets and Refinery29- Keep records of events and finances- Use data collected from surveys to improve outreach on social media and types of events- Train chapter leaders on Everytown’s new tools and technology to improve outreach and communications.
