CurrentThe Salish Sea Collective (TSSC) is a group of dedicated non-profits committed to stewardship, access & quality of the Salish Sea through equitable governance structures, community-based participatory models, & environmental accountability tools. Together, we work toward a shared vision and collaborative actions basin-wide. Centering the leadership of those most impacted by environmental harms requires that we build racial equity into our decision making on priorities, policies, and funding. The Collective will develop expectations and criteria around centering environmental justice in programs and policies of municipal programs that impact the Salish Sea (state, county, city, port). As the state implements the HEAL Act in coming years, all agencies including Ecology and the Puget Sound Partnership will need to embed EJ throughout their work. TSSC provides input to both agencies and affinity groups around issues of healthy waterways and watersheds for our communities within the Salish Sea ecosystem.
