Next to my own research into strategic process design for complex, multi-actor urban area transformations, I am responsible for developing and coordinating a new module for professionals focusing on urban area transformation. This module is part of the Master City Developer program.

ZO!City (formerly known as Glamourmanifest) is the independent platform for collective urban transformation, in which all stakeholder groups are connected and activated. Our approach is based on step-by-step, incremental development and a constant feedback loop between long-term ambitions and short-term actions. We work along three pillars: building an actively engaged local community, upgrading the built environment (both buildings and public space) and reframing the image of the area into a positive urban brand.ZO!City commits herself to Amstel3 exclusively, a big monofunctional office district in Amsterdam Southeast, in order to grow the area into an attractive, lively and sustainable urban neighbourhood. At the same time, Amstel3 is our living lab for testing new, more generic methods, theories and tools.

Utrecht2040 is a lively and active network in which companies, governments, educational institutions and social organizations collaborate on projects for an attractive and sustainable province of Utrecht. The network also provides a platform for interesting sustainability initiatives in the province. The Sustainability Award is key initiative of this platform, in 2013 focusing on transformation of vacant real estate.

Voile architecten researches and develops concepts for areas and buildings on the verge of transformation. The aim is always to cleverly connect the long term ambitions and quick and concrete quality impulses to kick-start the transformation process.
