My academic journey began in 2006 at Jordan University, where I specialized in Design and Visual Communication. This led to a professional role as a designer and animator at a prominent local TV station in Jordan.In 2009, I achieved an MA in Screen Design for Film and Television (Motion Graphics) at Kingston University in London, with commendation for my work.Balancing a passion for design with dedication to education, I became a lecturer at the School of Design and Visual Communication at the German Jordanian University. Notably, I introduced a successful fashion accessories design course and organized a prestigious 2011 fashion show, which attracted media attention and interviews highlighting my contributions.My artistic journey extends beyond the classroom, with active participation in lectures, workshops, and art and fashion exhibitions in Jordan and the UK.In 2022, I completed my PhD degree in Visual and Material Culture at Manchester Fashion Institute, part of Manchester Metropolitan University. My doctoral research was centered on establishing a conceptual framework that would capture and safeguard Palestinian heritage, particularly in the development of modernized wedding costumes through sustained processes.My roots in Palestine deeply influence my art. I firmly believe that Palestinian art is intricately connected to the Palestinian cause. As the Palestinian people strive for their freedom, I envision a day when our art, too, can break free from political constraints. Through my art, I aim to depict the homeland and the life Palestinians yearn to return to.My work seeks to visually express the cultural concept of resistance and the unbreakable bond between the Palestinian people and their land. This connection is a testament to our deep-rooted attachment to our homeland. I am particularly drawn to voices that often go unheard, those struggling for a space in the spotlight, such as those living under the harsh conditions of war and occupation. In these expressions, I use art as a powerful tool to amplify their voices, making it a necessity in my creative journey.Finally, throughout my 21-year journey, I've immersed myself in visual culture, fashion, heritage, education and design, evolving from fundamentals to make these areas my life's passion. My philosophy centers on the transformative power of creativity to conceive novel ideas and the vital importance of innovation in bringing these visions to life.
