Completed over 35 projects and 50 technical labs that provide real-world context in cybersecurityThis intensive program covered a wide range of topics, including:● Core Security Principles: Gained a solid foundation in cybersecurity fundamentals, threat analysis frameworks, and essential Linux/Unix functionality.● Cyber Threats and Mitigations: Learned to identify and defend against social engineering attacks and participate in user awareness training initiatives.● Host and Network Security: Developed expertise in implementing host-based security measures, securing networks, managing network security tools, and mitigating cyberattacks.● Identity and Access Management: Established a strong understanding of IAM principles and gained practical skills to implement secure access controls and user authentication protocols.● Cryptography: Acquired a solid foundation in cryptographic concepts and practical skills for evaluating implementations, selecting encryption methods, and understanding emerging trends like blockchain technology.● Security Architecture and Operations: Learned to design secure systems, implement access controls, build resilient networks, conduct security assessments and penetration testing, and collaborate on strategies to combat evolving threats.● Secure Application Development: Gained the ability to collaborate with development teams, promote secure coding practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), and advocate for secure development lifecycles.● Data Security and Privacy: Developed expertise in data security best practices, ensuring data privacy compliance, and effectively responding to security incidents.This program has prepared me to make a significant contribution to a security-focused team by effectively identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities, analyzing security data, implementing robust security controls, and promoting secure development practices.

● By leading secure GIS analysis of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH) data across a vast geographical area, I facilitated the identification of woredas and kebeles with the greatest need for intervention. This secure approach provided USAID/Ethiopia and other stakeholders with a clear picture of resource allocation needs, ultimately contributing to a more targeted and impactful national RMNCH strategy.
