My name is Behnam Panahi and I am graduate student in Biomedical Engineering at UBC, Vancouver, Canada. I completed a master's degree in "Biomedical Engineering" at Sharif University of Technology.Due to my passion for conducting research, I have been involved in several projects during my master’s studies. My master’s thesis is focused on the additive manufacturing (bioprinting) of complex three‑dimensional engineered tissues using soft hydrogels that are challenging or impossible to create by traditional fabrication approaches. These structures are built by embedding the printed hydrogel within a secondary hydrogel that serves as a temporary, and thermoreversible support. This fabrication method is called FRESH (freeform reversible embedding of suspended hydrogels). Moreover, I have work on an extra project that I collaborate with National Elites Foundation. In this project, we fabricate a vascularized cardiac path for heart regeneration. This patch improved the oxygen and nutrients delivery and consequently enhanced proliferation in cardiac cells. This patch can be used in clinics to improve cardiac cell regeneration as a suitable treatment of heart diseases.
