I emigrated from Shanghai, China, received higher education in both China and America, and worked about 3 years in the Technology Department for JPMorgan Chase. My experiences have provided me with an understanding that math skills are critical for developing critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making. During my tutoring at colleges and student teaching/apprenticeship at New York public high schools, I actively seek effective teaching practices that can balance high level math tasks and fundamental math skills. I believe students learn better and teachers teach better when they collaborate. To teach math is to help students become college and career ready.
