Kirnel is a native West Indian who immigrated to the United States with her family. As a first-generation scholar, Kirnel fostered a passion for supporting youth from marginalized, underserved, and underrepresented populations in cultivating their often un-tapped potential. Kirnel graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Agnes Scott College, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Education. She then earned her Doctor of Philosophy in School Psychology from Georgia State University. She has since began a career serving families with children with disabilities, both in the public school system, and in the private practice sector. As the President and CEO of REACH A.K.G. Education Consultants LLC, Kirnel continues to merge her passion for psychology and education, providing families with individualized, evidence-based, and therapeutic strategies to acquire knowledge for generational growth, development, and advancement.

Bobby Dodd Institute (BDI) provides Family Support Services in partnership with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD). They assist individuals from the Intellectual Disability (ID) and Development Disability (DD) population with promoting their overall quality of life.Together, REACH AKG and BDI offer a complete community-based system of services to support parents and caregivers of individuals with disabilities. Through our partnership, REACH AKG and BDI continue to connect local families with state and federal resources, as well as intensive hands-on supports for families in need.
