She is a technology professional with an Associates Degree in Communication Arts focused on Web Design from Madison Area Technical College. She cut her teeth at American Girl, where scanning film and color-correcting product photos were no challenge. She continued at AG with the eCommerce team, helping the website flourish from a tiny team with Stored-procedure-based development flow into a multi-million-dollar empire, shepherding the front-end development from tables for layout through spacer gifs and into the 21st century with cascading stylesheets and SEO-friendly text instead of images.While at AG, she had the opportunity to spend time as a User Experience Designer, documenting business and functional requirements; creating wireframes and use cases; writing, facilitating, and conducting usability tests, and writing reports and recommendations to project teams.Coinciding with her move to Earthling Interactive, she embraced WordPress as both a website solution and a blogging platform and hasn't looked back. Except for when she has to look at Drupal or Joomla.She's a developer, team lead, project manager, CMS architect, and user advocate at Earthling Interactive. She solves problems by listening, asking questions, and providing solutions. She architects projects and monitors schedules and budgets. She works with the sales team to close projects and keeps existing clients happy with thoughtful and timely communication.At Earthling Interactive, she developed a Usability Assessment product to help clients assess their projects with real users, gaining insight and actionable steps for the creative, marketing, and development teams.Bekee runs the Madison WordPress Meetup (since 2017) and has her own consulting LLC where she works on WP client sites. She also specializes in working with NPOs through DANEnet as a website consultant. She can't get enough of helping people. 😊
