Services BEK provides include (but not limited to) site investigation, contamination assessments, geotechnical assessments, flood risk assessment, drainage design, ecology (inc BNG), mining assessments, mineral assessments, ground gas risk assessment, remediation options, remediation validation, waste soil classification. Michael has considerable experienced in providing specialist environmental consultancy advice on managing environmental risks and reducing exposure and liabilities. He is experienced in implementing cost effective and innovative solutions to landowners, developers and contractors dealing with contaminated land and groundwater, giving reasoned scientific recommendations for appropriate, cost effective mitigation or remediation measures to justify works and satisfy regulators.Specialist experience in the production of desk study reports, design of site investigation works and assessment of ground conditions to investigate potential constraints to development proposals.Extensive experience in the assessment of potential risks to human health and the environment, including utilisation of appropriate risk assessment modelling software and undertaking site specific detailed quantitative risk assessment in accordance with UK policy and legislation.Experienced in undertaking environmental audits and liability assessments as well as providing advice on licensing permits (& exemptions), waste classification, DSEAR risk assessments and Material Management Plans. Also responsible for achieving accreditation to the SMAS Health & Safety scheme which is designed to help industry improve its safety record by the recognition of very high standards of health and safety practise.Qualified as a BRE certified carbon footprint assessor for small to medium enterprises.
