I have been in K-12 education for over 40 years: 8 years in private parochial schools in the Philippines, 32 years in private and public schools here in the United States—20 years of those as a site administrator, and into 4 more years out of retirement in district administration.I retired (January 2015) as a secondary school principal in San Leandro USD and became a HR mentor and consultant in San Lorenzo Unified School District and other several Bay Area school districts. After serving in an interim capacity as Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in San Lorenzo USD, I came out of retirement, dropped the cumbersome “interim ” and now full time Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in San Lorenzo USD.I am active in ACSA ( Association of California School Administrators), served as ACSA Region 6 president and State Board Director for 4 years representing Region 6 (Alameda and Contra Costa) counties. I am currently an ACSA coach and mentor to new administrators in these counties. I initiated the founding of the Women’s Leadership Network in Region 6. I remain active in the ACSA Women’s Leadership Network, providing mentorship, professional development, and networking to women leaders in education. I am also active in my church and community coordinating the Social Justice Ministry which includes Equity and Respect Life issues.
