I am a graduate of George Washington University holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience. Throughout my undergraduate years, I have taken various courses that have developed a fascination in me to seek fundamental knowledge about the brain and nervous system. The following courses sparked this interest of mine: Neural Substrates, Cognitive Neuroscience, Neural Circuits and Behavior, Autism, and Issues in Alternative Medicine, and has only grown since then. During these courses, we explored various facets of Autism Spectrum Disorder, neuroanatomy and neurophysiology for speech, language and hearing, cellular and molecular properties, and cognitive processes that form the basis of their associated behaviors, and various modalities of integrative therapy. These classes gave me a great foundation for furthering my studies in this area. My goal in life is to apply to medical school after taking some time to gain experience and heal people for the sake of world peace. Specifically, I am interested in combining integrative health with conventional health medicine. I am seeking full-time employment in Public Health, integrative neuroscience, or neurological disorder areas as it would provide me with invaluable experience to apply to my future studies. Although I would be most interested in studying in these fields, I would welcome the opportunity to work in any brain, nervous system, and public health team. I have worked in an autism and psychology laboratory at my university for two semesters and a summer as a research assistant and an independent researcher. I would hope that I would be able to merge my two passions of integrative and neuroscience and gain an appreciation for research and society to help me make good career decisions.
