The largest animal protection organization in Southeast Asia, Soi Dog Foundation helps stray dogs and cats through large scale sterilization programs, sheltering and rehoming animals. Soi Dog is also active in working to end the region’s dog and cat meat trade both through advocacy and direct action.Appointed as the first full time fundraising and communications employee to the organization, I grew and led the Fundraising and Communications Department to a team of 14 employees and:• Increased revenue from $1,789,000 in 2012 to over $12,000,000 in 2018.• Created annual departmental budgets of more than $2,700,000 and implemented fundraising and communication programs within budget.• Developed and implemented new recurring giving programs, growing the number of active monthly donors from under 11,000 to over 35,000. • Managed two capital campaigns which each raised more than $1,500,000.• Supervised the organization’s Facebook page and contributed to its rapidly increasing following of more than 1,300,000 followers and revenue of over $30,000 per month from peer-to-peer fundraisers on Facebook. • Wrote and designed fundraising emails and used Mailchimp to send them to an audience of over 1,000,000 supporters. Implemented a large, multi-channel digital advocacy campaign aimed at raising awareness of Vietnam’s dog and cat meat trade and attracting donors to further support Soi Dog’s work in ending the trade.• Initiated and managed legacy giving and peer-to-peer fundraising programs.• Selected and managed external vendors to conduct phone and face-to-face fundraising programs.• Implemented a new donor management database and contributed to development of custom donor reengagement software.• Developed donor recapture processes to recover 22% of lapsed donors. • Presented at national and international conferences on various fundraising topics. • Assisted in rescues, treatment, and rehoming of dogs and cats while working at the shelter in Thailand.
