In March 2000 I started my own business B Creative Graphic Design. The company produces Websites, Logos & Branding and Print Media.We take all projects from the initial briefing through to the design and layout, any photography or illustrations, scanning and retouching, digital enhancement, pre-press, colour separation and more.The business produces many forms of advertising material such as:- Business Cards and Stationery- Brochures- Magazines- Newsletters- Posters- Magazine Advertisements- Promotional and Marketing Fliers- Logo Designs- Corporate Identity- Website Design and DevelopmentWe work on the latest Apple Macintosh with scanning, printing and photographic equipment. InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Adobe Acrobat are the main programs used. I also work with PC’s.

I was employed on a casual basis as a Graphic Artist/desktop publisher. The company I work for is a Monthly Community Magazine. The role was initially voluntary.My duties included:- Design- Desktop Publishing - Production of Mono, Spot & Full Colour Advertisements- Scanning- Use of Quark, InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator- Production of ads under very strict deadlines.- Training of new staff

I was employed on a casual basis as a Graphic Artist/desktop publisher. The company I work for was a contractor for Leader Newspapers and was responsible for the production of ads for approx. 30 newspapers. Prior to taking on the Leader Newspaper contract we produced the Real Estate Weekly Magazine in conjunction with CMS Photographers.My duties included:- Design- Desktop Publishing - Production of Mono, Spot & Full Colour Advertisements- Scanning- Use of Quark, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Type Styler, Adobe Streamliner,.- Production of ads under very strict deadlines.- Liaising with Newspaper Sales Reps and Production team.- Training of new staff.

I was employed at Jetset as their Art and Design Director for the Printing and Publications department.I was responsible for a team of 8 people and the production of all Jetset publicity and business material (Travel brochures, point of sale, fliers, stationery etc.) as well as our external client base comprising of Flag International, Patons Chocolates, Food Plus, Melbourne University, Air New Zealand and many other companies. My duties included the following;Client Liaison:Introducing potential clients to our services and maintaining client contact. Discussing briefs and design layouts with the clients. Design/Layout:Creating the design for approval by the client on the following products: Logo design, labels, point of sale material, chocolate boxes, brochures, magazines, newsletters, stationery etc..Photography:Photography for any printing material required. Contacting and working with professional photographers when necessary. Contacting photographic libraries for hire of transparencies. Production:Desktop Publishing: Quark, Pagemaker, Adobe Illustrator, Photo Shop, Truvell Scanning, Freehand, Letrastudio and Canvas.Reprographic: Bromide, film, colour separations and communication with outside colour separation agencies such as Scanagraphix, Hi-Tech Graphics and Graphicset.Proofing: Ensuring accuracy of copy, colour separations and quality control. Printing:Platemaking, checking density of ink on the press and quality of printing and finishing, collating, binding and trimming.I was also directly responsible for the workflow in the department to ensure that jobs efficiently meet the strict deadlines.

I was employed as a junior graphic designer working in a small team producing magazines, tourism brochures, stationery and logo design. My role included client liaison, layout, design, paste-up, typesetting, illustration, camera operation, film strip-up and colour separation as well as plate making.
