Prepared biological specimens for analysis and reported data according to quality control procedures. Assisted in the coordination of studies, developed sample handling/processing protocols, and trained others.Reversed-phase HPLC/UV-Vis - Performed liquid-liquid extractions on serum and plasma samples to determine levels of various carotenoids and tocopherols using reversed phase HPLC on a Beckman Coulter HPLC unit. Processed chromatograms with Beckman Coulter 32Karat Chromatographic Software. Generated and reported results using SAS.ELISAs - Established high throughput analysis of plasma and serum samples by validating the ELISA kits and programming the Beckman Coulter Biomek 2000 to increase the number of plasma samples analyzed per day.Tissue Culture - Collaborated with the CSCL to optimize and standardize procedures for the isolation, storage, and culturing of lymphocytes from fresh blood, cryogenically preserved whole blood, and immortalized cell-lines. Optimized and standardized the DNA damage experimental procedure.Flow cytometry - Collaborated with Cancer Center/Immunology Flow Core manager to transfer, optimize, and validate the DNA Repair Assay from the BD FacsDIVA to the BD LSR-II. Processed data with CellQuest Pro software for cell-cycle analysis. Show less
