I spent 4.5 weeks living in and working on Le Vieux Hanger-- a family-run farm in Le Pellerin, France. Worked 5-6 hours per day, 5x per week helping weed, plant, and harvest crops, as well as general farm maitenence and household chores. I helped prepare and sell vegetables through the farms CSA, and also learned about organic and sustainable farming practices as well as skills in sheep farming. I spoke French with the family and customers, increasing my fluency in the language.

I worked as a volunteer for five weeks at a French immersion sleep-away camp in the San Juan Islands, Washington. I converted and organized photos on the camp computer using Adobe Photoshop-- mainly archival work. I ran the social media pages for the camp (Instagram and Facebook) posting daily on both platforms in order to both publicize the camp and communicate with parents. I took photos of campers and camp activities daily.

I maintained cleanliness of a AirBnB cabin, including routine cleaning and maintenance, laundry, decorating, and restocking of amenities. I also did weekly yard maintenance in the spring and summer, including weeding and watering. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I enforced AirBnB's "enhanced clean" protocol to keep the AirBnB running as safely as possible for guests. I had to stop this role due to moving away for university.

As a hostess, I was responsible for greeting guests, seating them, and taking and serving drink orders. Because I worked in this role during the COVID-19 pandemic, a portion of my job was also dedicated to sanitizing tables, menus, and other high-touch surfaces.

In this role, I worked with a team of 1-2 other dishwashers to divide and accomplish tasks regarding to bakery and store cleaning and maintenance. I washed dishes, cleaned, sanitized, stocked, and attended to customers.
