A global trade advocacy consultant and brand builder, I have a specific interest in the whisky industry - both new and old world - and its opportunity to appeal to the modern whisky consumer. I've spent over 14 years in the hospitality & beverage sector across independent, corporate and family-owned spirits companies – with extensive experience in managing internal and external stakeholder relationships and agency partnerships. Most of my career has been focused on small volume high-value brands with huge global growth potential, taking brands from ‘seed’ to ‘grow’ through non-traditional marketing techniques. I recently put this experience into practice by founding, along with my husband, The Heart Cut - a single cask and small batch whisky and spirits company, releasing one-off bottlings from distilleries worldwide. Small, but making waves, we're building this brand from the bottom up and keeping our focus on accessibility, collaboration and education to give The Heart Cut a unique point of difference to other independent bottlers. I highly value education in the spirits sector, and uniquely hold a Diploma in Distillation from the Institute of Brewing and Distilling and my WSET Spirits Level 3 Qualification; I also sit on the Board of Trustees for the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET). A confident and passionate public speaker, I have been a Tales of the Cocktail Seminar Speaker + Moderator for 6 years; I’ve also presented about whisky and the spirits category– from production and brand-specific tastings to viewpoints on inclusivity and change – at various spirits and culture events across the world, including Cannes Lions, Whisky L! Shanghai, the World Whisky Forum and Whisky Live New York/Cape Town/Warsaw/London.
