Lead the new teacher induction program for FCPS, the 10th largest school district in the United States, to develop the training and support network to successfully deliver training to the approximately 1,200 new teachers, or 10% of total teachers, who join the district each year. The program, consisting of 80 coach facilitators, 250 lead mentors, and 1,500 mentors across 200 schools, provides on-boarding and job-related training, as well as professional learning around social-emotional well-being and diversity, equity, and inclusion, as aligned with the division’s vision and mission. Leveraged technology to provide timely and meaningful professional learning opportunities and resources to a broader audience. Redesigned new teacher induction program to maximize reduced budget and increase retention of participants in year-long program, increasing retention from 60% to 93% over three years. Identified and developed teacher leadership opportunities for coaches and lead mentors to build their capacity as facilitators and to increase their knowledge and skills in best practices for working with adult learners. Developed and facilitated professional learning for coach facilitators, lead mentors, and mentor resource teachers designed to support novice teachers and experienced teachers new to the county. Partnered with Instructional Technology office to develop professional learning to support and model new Learning Management System for county-wide roll out using best practices of adult learning theory.
